Gróf Degenfeld Organic Hárslevelű is an elegant expression of the Tokaj region, crafted from organically grown, vegan-certified grapes originating from two distinctive vineyards. In Mezőzombor’s Galambos-dűlő, brown forest soils enriched with loess patches rest on rhyolite and rhyolite tuff, lending freshness and tension to the wine. The Terézia-dűlő in Tarcal offers a harmonious blend of loess and brown forest soil, set atop a perlite cone, contributing finesse and aromatic depth.

The vineyards were replanted between 1999 and 2010, using modern vine spacing and 2-bud spur pruning, allowing precise yield control of 1.5 kg per vine. All parcels have been organically cultivated since 2009.

The 2023 vintage began with a cool, unpredictable spring and continued with a humid, challenging summer that slowed ripening. An exceptional, warm autumn followed, accompanied by later intense rainfall. The early and widespread appearance of botrytis marked the year, although the dry Hárslevelű was harvested earlier, in mid-September, from fully ripe and healthy clusters.

After gentle pneumatic pressing, the must fermented with selected organic yeast in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation in tank to preserve purity and varietal character.

In the glass, the wine opens with sweet-toned tropical aromas, accompanied by elderflower and delicate almond notes. Its texture is rounded and substantial, balanced by vibrant acidity and a refreshing citrus finish. It pairs beautifully with grilled poultry, pork dishes, and salads dressed with balsamic vinegar or honey, offering a versatile option at the table. The ideal serving temperature is 10 °C.
