 In 2021, Jammertal Wine Estate achieved its original goal and undeniably became one of the world's best wineries. At the 2021 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles international wine competition, Jammertal Wine Estate's Cassiopeia Merlot 2015 scored the highest in several rounds of rigorous blind tasting among red wines entered from all major wine regions of the world.

With this result, we have also permanently placed the Villány wine region on the map of the world's elite blue grape-growing terroirs. Their chief winemaker and the architect of their success is Zsófia Kövesdi.

The viticultural work on their 85 hectares of carefully selected vineyards is led by Zsolt Nagy.

Jammertal Wine Estate's vineyards span the entire east-west width of the Villány wine region, from Palkonya to Hegyszentmárton. The entire area consists of loess-clay mixed with brown forest soil deposited on a limestone base.

The vineyards are located on plateaus and southern slopes. They are protected from cold northern winds by the twin hills of Pécs and Villány. This characteristic ensures the unique sub-Mediterranean microclimate of the wine region.

They focus on Bordeaux varieties because they fit the terroir excellently.

Eighty-five percent of their vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The remaining 15% is mostly Kékfrankos, but Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Portugieser are also part of their portfolio.
