Neighbor it is a cultural meeting point that celebrates the rich traditions of Austrian and Hungarian wine and gastronomy. Located in the heart of Döbling, our shop offers a carefully curated selection of exceptional wines and gourmet products, each chosen not only for its quality but for the story it tells. From iconic Hungarian varietals like Bikavér and Irsai Olivér to outstanding Austrian wines from Vienna, Burgenland and beyond, we invite our customers on a journey of discovery with every bottle.
What makes Neighbor unique is our commitment to combining products with experience. Each of our wines, oils, chocolates, and delicacies is selected for its authenticity and the passion behind its creation. We work directly with producers who share our values of craftsmanship, tradition, and respect for the land. Whether it’s a rare bottle from a small winery in Pannonhalma or handcrafted chocolate from Vienna’s best chocolatiers, our shelves offer an ever-changing range of treasures waiting to be explored.
But Neighbor is also about connection. We believe in the power of wine and food to bring people together, to spark conversations and create memories. That is why we host weekly wine tasting events with the winemakers, where guests can sample our borderless selection of Austrian and Hungarian wines, learn about different terroirs, and meet passionate winemakers. These tastings are informal and welcoming, designed for everyone from curious beginners to seasoned wine lovers. In addition, we offer workshops and themed evenings where we combine wine with music, literature or local traditions, creating unforgettable moments for our community.
Our event room, which accommodates up to 12 people seated or up to 25–30 for standing receptions, is available for private bookings. Whether for corporate gatherings, team-building activities, birthday celebrations or intimate dinners, we provide a warm and stylish setting complete with a large table, cosy lounge area, premium sound system (including an analogue record player), and catering options with fine cold dishes and drinks. Our team is happy to assist with custom arrangements, from wine tastings to personalised gift boxes.
Speaking of gifts, we offer a wide range of corporate and personal gifting solutions — from custom-labelled wine bottles to beautifully packaged gourmet sets. We are proud to foster a family-friendly atmosphere at Neighbor. Our Kinderecke provides a welcoming space for children, so that parents can enjoy a coffee, browse our selection, or take part in a tasting without worry. As for the coffee — we serve what many consider the best coffee in the neighbourhood, sourced from Caffè a Casa, a Viennese roaster, perfect for take-away or to savour in-store.
