Chardonnay Ried Hackenberg Julia 2021
Chardonnay Ried Hackenberg Julia 2021
Noble and highly elegant, wood is used sparingly, the wine always takes center stage, dense, very ripe fruit, juicy, fresh pear, truly sensitive, already appears harmonious and balanced; on the palate, naturally more intense, wood resonates pleasantly and will integrate perfectly with some bottle aging, juicy, yellow fruit, pointed citrus notes, long finish, very good aging and development potential.
The Hackenberg vineyard lies on the climate-favored southern slope of the approximately 300-meter-high Hackenberg, surrounded by the Arbesbach and Krottenbach streams, in the Sievering district of the 19th Vienna district of Döbling. The surface of the vineyard is heavily interspersed with marine sands, limestones, and gravels. This allows the vines to root deeply and promotes the ripening of aromatic, complex grapes. The name Hackenberg is believed to be derived from an old field measure called "Haken" or "Hacken".
The hand-picked, carefully selected grapes were gently destemmed and pressed. Then the must was partially filled into used and new barriques and partially into stainless steel tanks for fermentation. After fermentation, the wine was left undisturbed and aged on the lees for a year.
