Sauvignon Blanc Brut
From Etyeki Kúria in the Etyek-Buda wine region, where Sauvignon Blanc has long felt at home. This sparkling wine is the result of an experiment — the winery pushes the boundaries of the variety and asks an unusual question: what happens when Sauvignon Blanc is not left to ferment quietly, but captured in bubbles instead?
Inspired by the Asti method, harvested at full ripeness, fermented in a pressurized tank and aged for five months on fine lees. Medium lemon colour. Lemon candy opens, followed by white acacia, yellow grapefruit, green apple and freshly grated ginger. On the palate, lemon sorbet sets the tone, with crisp green apple, grapefruit juice, mint and basil, gooseberry and carambola.
Pairs well with cold starters — smoked fish, shellfish — and light citrus-based desserts. Vegan pairing: avocado salad with grapefruit and mint.
