Julia Kroiss
In Vienna as in Illmitz, the younger generation is already at the helm with us. In Vienna, Julia, who learned her craft in Klosterneuburg and perfected it in practice, is increasingly adding her personal touch to the work and the wines. The result is a Viennese, coolly refined style that comes into full bloom in wines like "Julia."
As different as Vienna and Illmitz are, one thing remains the same in both places: our approach to winemaking and our attitude towards nature.
Uncompromisingly clean work and respect for nature are our most important principles. The pursuit of quality begins in the vineyard. Without overly interfering in the complexity of the wine, we give it plenty of time to find its harmony. The terroir is paramount and should be clearly conveyed, not embellished. Our passion is to produce wines shaped by the soil and climate.
We want to taste the origin! With our wines and also in the vineyard, we always push the limits, exploring the boundaries of the vines on the sandy soils of Seewinkel and the clayey gravel soils of Vienna, year after year.
Vintage differences? Absolutely! We are not a mass production line following a recipe, but are dependent on nature. Handwork and a lot of passion accompany us through the wine year and make our lives as varied as our wines.
